FLYING WITH THE HAWK

MATTHEW HAWK

Matthew Hawk is working on a new album to be released in Fall of 2022. Reminiscent of the 1990s, the album is an eclectic mix of inspirational pop, rock, alternative, Americana, and modern acoustic led singer-songwriter ballads. “We’ve been through a lot the last few years. I hope to offer hope and love to a decaying world through these songs,” says Hawk.

I had a fun interview with Rachel Mains and at times, things got quite somber. Jesus is the reason for the season.

Matthew Hawk Nominated for Best Supporting Performance

11/12/2021

November 2021--Matthew Hawk was nominated by the Vancouver Horror Show Film Festival for the Best Supporting Performance, for the film, Don't Let It In. He played the character, Lee, who is the father to the lead character. As Lee, Hawk played a Native American father living on the Rez who shares an animated bedtime story of the evil shapeshifters and skin walkers--the story later becoming reality.

Don't Let It In was shot in the everglades on an actual reservation. The director, Jessica Henric, chose to use an all-native cast, auditioning people from all over North America. Four different tribes and nations were represented in the film.

The film was shot in 2019 but is just now making the film festival circuit, due to covid.

Music Video, Coming Home, wins an award at the Emerald Coast Film Festival

10/28/2021

Matthew Hawk and his daughter Makayla produced this music video together when she was taking film classes in high school. They entered the video in the mentor/student category and WON! It was a lot of fun to do together. Watch the video below. Unfortunately, it's going to be pulled soon, because Matthew signed with a major distribution deal and this song will soon be re-released in the new year, which means all previous versions will disappear.

Humbled and Honored to be featured in Christian Women Living Magazine.

Back in the recording studio

5/5/2021

I'm happy to say, I'm finally back in the recording studio working on a new album. This one will be a bit more stripped down, going back to that 1990's acoustic, unplugged feel. Very singer-songwriter. I'm very excited about it, and I hope you like it! :-).  We started tracking this weekend. My wife was there for moral support :-). Ps. This studio has a NEVE recording console! If you know anything about music, most multi-platinum selling bands recorded on one of these back in the day.  Make sure to sign up on my email list to get updates, and bookmark this page.
