MATTHEW HAWK MUSIC
Matthew Hawk is a singer-songwriter, producer, and worship leader from Atlanta, Georgia. Hawk’s newest album, Sing for the King, a praise and worship side project, is set to be released August 28th. His first single from the album, Running on Empty, reached #5 on the Top 20 Christian National Charts via PlayMPE.
With a style reminiscent of the 1990’s, Hawk’s deep baritone vocals mixed with guitar-driven catchy tunes will remind listeners of We the Kingdom or Zach Williams, with a few throwbacks to the great early Christian rock pioneers of the nineties era. Hawk served the last decade in the film industry as an actor, musician, singer-songwriter, double, and stand-in, working on over thirty films such as Pitch Perfect 3, playing guitar for the Bellas, playing guitar in the Vampire Diaries, and again on ABC's Baker and the Beauty and BET’s American Soul. He was the double and stand-in for Finnick in the Hunger Games Trilogy and Four in the Divergent Series. He has doubled for actors Jon Hamm, Ed Helms, Adam Sandler, Jason Bateman, Hayden Christiansen, and many others. He even flew the Gemini 8 as a double for the film, First Man, and took lessons how to fly it from NASA engineers. He once saved Jennifer Lawrence’s life (true story - she thought tuna fish casserole was Mac and cheese) and he shared Jesus with several A-list actors, one of them breaking down in tears in his hotel room as God touched his heart. He feels the film industry was a mission field and helped prepare him for the stage as a musical artist. 2022 was a big year. Matthew Hawk was nominated for three Native American Music Awards and won an award at the Emerald Coast Film Festival with his music video, Coming Home. Matthew Hawk’s already back in the studio working on another album, with the focus more on outreach. The untitled album will release in 2024 with the first singles releasing towards the end of 2023.
