A Long Awaited Update

Hey friends, life has been full of suprises, setbacks, new opportunities and roadblocks. We're still waiting for the new EP worship side project, Sing for the King, to be released from Outpour Records. It looks like the anticipated release will be closer to summer of 2024. I'm sorry for the delay. I'm still open to playing out some shows or leading worship. The first single release will be my favorite song on the album, Bought by the Blood. It's a wonderful reminder that once Christ enters our lives, we are bought by the blood and are no longer who we were. 

I spent the month of January fasting and praying and seeking direction from the Lord. I'm happy to say that after four years of writer's block, I'm suddenly writing again as the Lord opened those doors. Besides songs, I write faith-based YA historical fiction, bringing history to life though teenage characters--many of the stories about music or musicians. I'm currently pitching several stories to agents and I would love your prayers there. I'll create a link soon with some of my stories to preview, etc. 

One thing the Lord pressed on me during the fast was to do my family tree. I really wasn't into it but felt the Lord impressing me to do it, so I did. It's important to know where we come from. I discovered that my ancestors on one side were on the Trail of Tears (125,000 Native Americans removed from their homes in the east and marched from NC, GA, and TN to Oklahoma. Over 4,000 died.) My Ggggreeat grandfather died on the trail, and his newborn son, who was born on the trail. Oh, and they (the family) were passionate, on-fire Christians. There are a line of pastors in the family. Researching the topic was heartbreaking. There were 'Christians' who led this genocide all in the name of Christ (but really in the name of greed) and there were Christian missionaries who fought against it and voluntarily walked the trail with the natives, for the sake of the gospel, some of these white missionaries dying for the sake of the gospel on the path. That is love. I'm writing all this just to inform you that God has a purpose in me learning this new information, and I guess I'll share it all later.
