The Bless Me Club
Faith-based drama with a little comedy.
Logline: Pastor Billy Crowe is a famous, arrogant, multimillionaire prosperity theory preacher under investigation who goes to a remote village in Africa to portray a humble image, gets kidnapped by rebels, and finds God. Pastor Billy Crowe is a prosperity theory preacher of a mega member church, offering the material blessings of God in exchange for big tithes. Living the high life in a multimillion dollar home and enjoying the gluttonous lifestyle of material wealth, the person prospering the most is himself. An arrogant, vain man with a popular ministry and a state-of-the-art recording studio, Pastor Crowe finds little time for his wife and kids but enjoys the attention he seeks from his fans, especially his female followers. After hiring a famous publicist to put him in the public eye, he finds himself under investigation for fraud and embezzlement by the government. In an effort to clean up his image and make himself appear more ministerial and humanistic, as suggested by his lawyer and the church board, Pastor Crowe finally concedes to allow his publicist to book him on a documented mission outreach to a third world country. While there, he witnesses the power of God like never before, where he realizes his prosperity message doesn't work in such a destitute place. Kidnapped by rebels and ransomed for millions of dollars, Pastor Crowe finds himself discarded by his own church leadership and loses everything, including his family.
