ABOUT MATTHEW HAWK
Matthew Hawk (Eldridge) is a sleepless, coffee-addicted, creative Renaissance man who produces and performs his own music, writes historical fiction, screenplays, and children's books. Performing musically as Matthew Hawk (radio always screwed up his name), Matthew includes his full name (Eldridge) for his stories.
An accomplished, award-nominated songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Matthew passionately pens screenplays, novels, and short stories rich in musical history. His upcoming screenplay and novel, Little Violinist, tells the story of a young violinist prodigy, Joshua, who escapes the horrors of the Holocaust by delving into the melodic memories of classical masterpieces. But when Joshua’s musical hands are wanted as a trophy by the Beast of Buchenwald and he is later invited to perform for Hitler, his only goal becomes survival, as nobody has ever performed for Hitler and lived to tell about it. Matthew's debut novel, Saint Nicholas, the Christmas Story, reached #1 on Amazon's Best Seller's list. Recently, he wrote a song for the film, Boy Erased, starring Nicole Kidman and Russel Crowe, and performed the song in the film. He also played guitar in Pitch Perfect Three for the Bellas, starring Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson, and he played guitar in various television shows to include the Vampire Diaries, Baker and the Beauty, American Soul, and others. He produced the national television show, Rock-It TV, an MTV-style program, airing on TBN's sister station, JCTV. Matthew earned his MFA in Creative Writing from Full Sail University and was the valedictorian of the class, graduating with honors and winning numerous awards. |
