ATLANTA, GA – Passionate. Hungry for Jesus. Intimately seeking his presence with a guitar and pen in hand. Deeply desiring connection. Worship Evangelism. It's a word that's been spoken over CCM artist Matthew Hawk time and time again over the years --It reflects what his heart wants to do--what it feels called to do.
“There's nothing I enjoy more than drawing people into the presence of God, but it's more than just leading worship on Sunday mornings. It's a deep desire to write songs for His glory--songs that speak and touch and heal. Songs that draw people to the Father. Songs that are alive and full of His presence and purpose. Songs that meet people in their brokenness and journeys with them to Jesus,” says Hawk. Singer-songwriter Matthew Hawk is working on a seven-song praise and worship E.P. titled, Sing for the King, and a CCM album, Love Revolution, simultaneously. “Glorify Your Name” is the first cut on Sing for the King and is an upbeat praise song. “As a worship leader, I don’t feel there’s a lot of current upbeat praise songs in the Christian community. I wrote this song specifically for congregational worship and the church loves to sing it,” according to Hawk. 2022 was a year of new beginnings for Matthew Hawk after stepping out of music for many years. His song, Running on Empty, debuted #5 on the top Christian charts for PlayMPE. He was nominated for three Native American Music Awards. His music video, Coming Home, won an award at the Emerald Coast Film Festival. |
